Great day, but a nightmare finding accommodation.
All those who said we should book ahead were right & I was totally wrong. There was a tsunami of things against us. We decided to move on from Launceston to Deloraine, where every room was booked out, for a car show & wedding.So we moved on to Mole Creek where every room & cabin was booked, due to the local show. So we moved on up to Latrobe where every room was booked for the big rodeo. So then we went to Devonport where every room & cabin was booked for the annual triathlon. We finally got a nice ensuite room in a pub at Ulverstone. 5 hours, 200Ks & 21 places tried. This was a dismal new record, the previous best was in France where we had to try only 5 hotels.
Every event for the entire year in Tasmania happens on the 17th of February.
We have booked for the next 2 nights.
