A look around Low Head & 2 nights at Evandale which is a 'Montville' type of town on the outskirts of Launceston. Very nice here & 10k closer to Launceston airport than Launceston is, which will be very handy for us tomorrow morning.
One of the 2 lead lights into the mouth of the Tamar at Low Head.
I don't know what the experience was..............................
Pano of the second lead light at Low Head.
Sunset over the mouth of the Tamar from in front of our accommodation.
At the pilot station. Notice the heavy rain in the background, it never arrived where we were.
Pilot station buildings & compound, around 200 years old.
Looking up the Tamar from the Low Head light house.
The Low Head light, still in use.
Pano of the Tamar mouth from Bass straight.
The semaphore station near the light house. A series of these on mountain tops relayed messages 50k
to Launceston regarding shipping movements. The communication system of the day.

The particle board factory viewed from hilltop lookout.
Giant aluminium ingots at the smelter.
Cataract Gorge, Launceston, from the chair lift .

We decided to call this 'Dog Nose Rock'
Cataract cruise, we did this on our last trip, it was really good.
A hysterical bridge.
A close up showing just how hysterical it is.
